Demons are the occupants of the Demon Realm.

Demon Realm 「魔界」

The Demon Realm is a minor, fragmented realm of higher anima density.

Counter to the Material Realm's vast scale, Demon Realm is closer in size to a large planet.

Anima leaks into the demon realm from its center, quickly reducing in density with altitude. The varied anima density of its terrain produces a multitude of buoyant, concentric shells and floating islands.

While the demon realm lacks a sun, the flow of anima through its atmosphere produces a small amount of light and heat.

The demon realm is varied in its climates and ecosystems, largely based on depth and local inhabitants.

Corruption

Many demon kinds are derived from other kinds that were corrupted in the demon realm.

Exposure to dense anima over many generations often leads to rapid mutation and adaption, with more extreme changes within the depths of the realm.
