Project MIKO
Project MIKO was a collaborative endeavor between numerous laboratories within the Davenuk Empire and Galactic Republic—overseen by a board of anonymous investors—to develop genetically-augmented clone soldiers capable of carrying out a variety of combat and covert operations.
Early Development
The inception of Project MIKO involved the infiltration of several medical and academic institutions to investigate and collect genetic materials from numerous candidates. Researchers ultimately settled on a young Traveler girl, determined to have a favorable constitution and registered remarkable resonance in electromagnetic alchemics, as the genetic basis for the MIKO clones.
Eclipse Program
Initiated during the production of the first generation of MIKOs, the Eclipse Program aimed to develop versatile biological weapons utilizing shape-shifting and material reconstruction. Through a series of bio-alchemic experiments, researchers refined the capacities of the program, allowing subjects to produce weapons and change their appearance. However, instability in alchemic protocols and the loss of critical facilities delayed the program, preventing its inclusion in the second generation of MIKOs. Despite its eventual success, the program was ultimately halted by raids on key laboratories.
Nightmare Program
Nightmare was a competing fork of the Eclipse Program, seeking to push beyond shape-shifting into the realm of metaphysical reformation. Despite its ambitious goals and ample funding, the program never reached production, being abruptly ended alongside the Eclipse Program.
MIKO Program
The MIKOs were the ultimate result of the project’s efforts: clone sisters mass-produced with growth hormones, physical augmentation, psionic abilities, and neurological programming.
Generation I
The first generation of MIKOs proved the project’s abilities to mass produce clones across numerous scattered and discrete laboratories. Despite international efforts to shut down the project, new facilities continually emerged.
Numerous batches of MIKOs were delivered to a various military forces and organizations, quickly earning a reputation as capable and effective soldiers.
Generation II
The second generation of MIKOs featured increased physical performance and introduced an electro-psionic communication network between operators, enhancing their coordination and efficiency in the field.
Generation III
Following the completion of the Eclipse program, several laboratories moved forward with its integration into the next generation of MIKOs. However, a lapse in security allowed Davenuk forces to locate and raid the facilities, resulting in their ultimate destruction. It is uncertain whether any clones of this generation were produced.
Meta
- At least one Generation III clone, a well-known assassin in the Davenuk-Replubic periphery, is known to have escaped the destruction of the laboratories.
